TESTIMONIALS

What people say

In the times in which we live, and given the increasing needs of our community, it’s good to know the Presbyterian Foundation of Louisiana exists to not only help more students on their way to achieving their career goals but also assist more of our senior population with supportive services to help them remain active and healthy. It’s two ends of the spectrum of life, and for that we praise God.

Grant Programs

PFL oversees funds in The Ministry on Aging Fund, which receives gifts from institutions, churches, and individuals for the benefit of and assistance to programs for the elderly. Applications are received and appraised by an appointed trustee for presentation at the annual Board meeting in May.

Although the Ministry to Aging Fund had its beginning prior to 1969, it was in this year that the PFL Board of Directors voted to implement the advice of their finance committee to consolidate some of its small funds for the aging into one. This led to the establishment in 1987 of the current Ministry to the Aging Fund.

PFL also oversees funds in the Johnston-Aldrich Memorial Fund, which is also open for additional donations. Applications for grants from this Fund may be made by entities providing services within the Mission of the Foundation that are then trustee appraised and presented at the annual Board meeting in May.
